Creating a Blog with Cravo

Learn how to create a blog section on your Cravo site using page types.

How Blog Pages Display

When a page is set to Blog type:

  • Child pages appear as a list of posts
  • Posts are sorted by date (newest first)
  • Each post shows title, excerpt, and date
  • Clicking a post opens the full article

Blog Structure in Craft

Organize your blog like this:

text
1Blog (Blog Type)
2├── My First Post → /blog/my-first-post
3├── Second Post → /blog/second-post
4└── Latest News → /blog/latest-news

Writing Blog Posts

Each child page of your blog becomes a post:

  1. Create a nested page under your blog page in Craft
  2. Write your content normally
  3. Sync to Cravo

The page title becomes the post title, and the content becomes the article body.

Blog Settings

Blog pages have additional settings:

SettingDescription
Posts per pageNumber of posts to show
Show excerptsDisplay preview text
Show datesDisplay post dates
Sort orderNewest or oldest first

Adding a Blog to Navigation

To show your blog in the Top Menu:

  1. Go to Content → Menus → Top Menu
  2. Add a menu item pointing to your blog page
  3. Save changes

💡 TIP
Consider keeping the blog in the top-level navigation for easy discovery.

Best Practices

  1. Use descriptive titles – Post titles are used in navigation and SEO
  2. Keep excerpts short – First paragraph becomes the preview
  3. Date your posts – Helps readers know content freshness
  4. Consistent formatting – Use similar structure for all posts
